Working in the construction industry takes strength, resilience, and teamwork. But being strong doesn’t mean having to handle everything on your own. Job-related stress, mental health concerns, substance use or challenges affecting a spouse, child or other family member can happen to anyone—and sometimes the most important step is simply knowing where to turn.
Through its partnership with the Long Island Contractors’ Association, Outreach provides members and their families with a confidential place to turn when they need support. For more than four decades, Outreach has helped individuals and families across New York address mental health and substance use challenges and build healthier lives. Its Member Assistance Services brings that experience directly to LICA members and their loved ones.
Sometimes the first conversation is the most important. Outreach’s confidential support line is available 24 hours a day at 1-917-280-4802, connecting members and their families with trained staff who will listen, answer questions and help determine the best next step. When additional care is needed, Outreach can connect individuals with its network of outpatient and residential programs for adults, young adults and adolescents.
Available services include:
- Substance use counseling
- Mental health screenings
- Mental health counseling
- Medication management
- DWI programs
- Veterans services
- Telehealth services
- Enhanced family services
- Mobile services that bring assistance directly to those in need
Outreach also understands that long and demanding work hours can make seeking help more difficult. Telehealth and mobile services can make care easier to access, while staff can help members and families navigate treatment options rather than leaving them to figure out the system on their own. Throughout the process, privacy and confidentiality remain at the heart of the program.
“Outreach has a long-standing commitment to supporting union members and their families, and we are proud to continue that tradition through our partnership with the Long Island Contractors’ Association,” said David Vizzini, Outreach’s Chief Administrative Officer. “We understand that LICANYS members and their families may face challenges both on the job and at home. We want them to know that whenever they need us, Outreach is here to provide compassionate, confidential support and help them take that next step.”
Asking for help doesn’t diminish the strength it takes to do a demanding job, provide for a family, or support the people who depend on you. Often, it is an important step toward feeling better and moving forward. For LICANYS members and their families, Outreach is here to make sure that when that moment comes, there is someone ready to listen and help.
