Welcome to the Spring edition of Road Warriors!

Welcome to the spring edition of Road Warriors.

Our cover story features a conversation with Stu Rabinowitz, a Long Island institution in his own right, who was at the helm of another cornerstone of our regional landscape, Nassau University Medical Center. Stu speaks candidly about strategy, community, and what it means to build thoughtfully, particularly when the work involves balancing complex stakeholders, public responsibility, and long-term vision.

In this issue we hear from Assemblymember Keith Brown, who recently announced he will not seek reelection; Bridget Mantello on the successful launch of United Way Women; Peter Scully of Hayduk Engineering who offers insight from the field; the team at Posillico on being awarded the contract to construct the Smith Point Bridge; our friends at Grassi help us prepare as tax season looms, and Marc Herbst who, with his usual wit, likens our illustrious cover model to a certain character from The Shawshank Redemption.

Buckle up. This is a fun one.

If you would like to share suggestions, feedback, or even a bit of praise, I would love to hear from you at jfranchi@licanys.org.

As always, thank you for the work you do to keep Long Island running. We look forward to a productive season ahead and urge everyone to stay safe out there.

Thank you,

Jaime Franchi
